Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Chief Counsel, the Deputy Chief Counsel (DCC) serves as the primary advisor to the Chief Counsel and other executive leaders on complex legal matters and initiatives in consequential negotiations, strategic decision-making, risk management, formulation of Commission policy and appropriate courses of action concerning a broad set of issues on which the Chief Counsel’s Office (CCO) is actively engaged.

The DCC is responsible for managing distinct areas within the CCO and directing and coordinating the legal work within the Regulatory & Advisory Unit, Hearing & Advisory Unit, Transactions Unit, and Administrative Unit. The position will manage and supervise three Assistant Chief Counsels and a Staff Services Manager I.
