The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

RWJ Barnabas Health is looking for a qualified Director Patient Care of whom will be the nursing leader in the daily functioning of the Operating Room at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. This individual will have oversight to ensure the delivery of quality patient care for all patients within this sector. They work with the clinical nursing staff to establish a culture of best practices through a common vision, common language, goals and metrics.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of National League for Nursing accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required.
• Five years of nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory setting.
• Evidence of leadership ability.
• Broad knowledge of healthcare administration, practices and principles within a healthcare system.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Emphasizes the positive and provides clear direction.
• Able to keep up to date in nursing competency to meet standards of national, state, and hospital accreditation.
• Current RN licensure in New Jersey.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required

Preferred:

• Master of Science in nursing degree preferred. 
• Professional nursing certification preferred. 

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time 
• Day Shift

Essential Functions:

• Ensures that quality age appropriate nursing care is delivered to all patients in accordance with the philosophy, policies and program plans of thehospital,
• Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education,
• Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies,
• Develops, implements and maintains unit budget,
• Participates in nursing quality assurance,
• Maintains unit administration, including scheduling and maintenance of supplies and equipment,
• Responsible for timely throughput of patients within the division on a daily basis,
• Works to solve patient throughput issues within the division on a daily basis,
• Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care,
