Job Description
The **People Development Designer II (Instructional Design** ) serves as a strategic contributor to the development and continuous improvement of training programs, processes, and systems that drive operational excellence across Signature Flight Support's global field network. This role leads the design and implementation of advanced onboarding, technical training, and recurring education initiatives to elevate performance, safety, and service standards. The Designer II also ensures alignment with business goals by optimizing the learning experience through data-driven instructional strategies and collaboration with key stakeholders across departments.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Performance
+ Lead the end-to-end design, development, and evaluation of scalable learning programs, leveraging instructional design best practices to meet complex operational and regulatory requirements.
+ Design advanced online learning modules, simulations, and blended learning strategies that target diverse learning styles and promote long-term knowledge retention.
+ Serve as a strategic partner in the development and deployment of a holistic Training and Procedures operating model, ensuring integration with business systems and alignment with corporate goals.
+ Evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics, learning analytics, and stakeholder feedback to continuously refine content and delivery methods.
+ Drive innovation in instructional technologies and champion the use of modern learning tools, working cross-functionally with IT to identify and implement technology enhancements.
Safety
+ Proactively design and integrate safety training modules that reinforce a culture of risk awareness, regulatory compliance, and zero-incident performance.
+ Collaborate with Safety, Field Operations, and Operations Analysis teams to interpret incident data and apply insights to training redesigns.
+ Lead the development of post-incident training responses and remediation strategies in partnership with HSE, using root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
+ Support the development of predictive safety training programs and behavior-based training interventions.
Service
+ Champion a service excellence mindset by embedding customer-centric training elements across all onboarding and procedural learning programs.
+ Utilize employee feedback, operational KPIs, and customer satisfaction data to identify gaps and prioritize enhancements to training content and learner experience.
+ Design and continuously refine onboarding experiences that reduce time-to-proficiency and improve new hire retention and engagement.
+ Ensure training programs consistently reflect evolving customer expectations, market conditions, and organizational values.
Program & Stakeholder Management
+ Serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant on instructional design, offering strategic guidance to department leaders, SMEs, and field stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align learning initiatives with business objectives and change management efforts.
+ Drive the evolution of LMS administration processes, including automation, data tracking, and integration with broader talent development systems.
**Minimum Education and/or Experience:**
+ Bachelor's Degree required in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience designing and delivering technical or compliance-based training programs, with a proven track record of leading large-scale instructional projects across geographically dispersed teams.
+ Demonstrated expertise with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Lectora), LMS administration, and learning data analytics.
**Additional knowledge and skills:**
+ Advanced knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning theory, and learner experience design.
+ Strong consultative and communication skills, capable of translating complex operational requirements into compelling learning experiences.
+ Ability to independently manage multiple projects with competing priorities, while meeting tight deadlines and quality standards.
+ Experience applying human-centered design, scenario-based learning, or gamification techniques to enhance learner engagement
+ Familiarity with performance consulting and the integration of learning with business performance improvement strategies.
+ Knowledge of aviation, hospitality, or high-reliability service environments preferred.
